Dwayne LeMarc Glazee 42, of Burton, son of Annie Glaze Jones and Andrew "Stubs" Graham, and Leon and Betty Glaze, died Monday, October 7, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral Services: 11:00 AM Monday, October 14, 2013 at Second Jordan Baptist Church, Burton. Burial will follow in Beaufort Memorial Gardens.
Wake Services: Sunday, October 13, 2013 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM in the sanctuary of New Hope Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 67 Parris Island Gateway, Burton.
A time to be born – On July 24, 1971 in Burton, South Carolina, Anne Glaze and Andrew Graham welcomed the birth of their son, Dwayne LeMarc Glaze. He graduated from Battery Creek High School in 1990. After high school, he attended USC-Beaufort, The Technical College of the Lowcountry, and Austin Paey University where he studied religion. Dwayne was employed at Burger King, Beaufort Glass Co., Pizza Hut, and Bi-Lo.
A time to serve – At an early age, Dwayne accepted Christ as his personal savior, was baptized and became a member of Second Jordan Baptist Church. As a member of Second Jordan, he played the drums, served on the usher board, sang with the junior choir, and formed the Youth Extravaganza.
A time to reflect – When we think of Dwayne, we remember a young man who loved to laugh and make everyone around him laugh. His laughter was contagious. Extra-curricular activities include but are not limited to participation in the Cub Scouts, drum major in the marching band and a member of the football team at Battery Creek High. He was a member of the Traveling Christian Band where he was the drummer. Dwayne was also known as Dwayne “Da DJ” Glaze.
A time to die – Dwayne answered his eternal summons on Monday, October 7, 2013 at his mother’s home. In addition to his sister, Keana “Kizzy” Nicole Jones, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Stevie Dwight Jones, grandfathers, John L. Jones and Benjamin Graham, grandmother, Julie Mae Ervin and grandfather, Charlie Ervin Sr..
A time to mourn – He leaves to cherish his deserving memory and rejoice in his home going, his loving mother, Annie “Anne” Lee Jones of Burton; maternal grandparents, Leon and Betty Glaze of Burton; father, Andrew “Stub” Graham of Hendersonville, SC.; two daughters: Wachovia Brown of Beaufort and Deyanna Glaze of Augusta, GA; one son, Dwayne L. Glaze, of Augusta, GA; six brothers: Mario Jones (Tralaunda), Andrew Brandy Graham, and Ishamil Francis all of Beaufort, Andre Graham of Hendersonville, SC, Hakeem Graham of Atlanta, GA and Vashon Brown of Bainbridge, GA; three sisters: Shawanna Steptoe of Hammond, LA, Sherrill Francis of Beaufort, SC and Ashawnee Bowen of Los Angeles, CA; paternal grandmother, Gloria H. Jones of Albany, GA; six aunts: Tongie Leonce (Ken) of Dallas, TX, Diane Ervin and Lavonia Ervin of Beaufort, Pearl Graham and Richardene Ervin of Boston, MA and Essie Mae Graham of New York; five uncles: Greg Jones (Renee), Hiriam Jones (Theresa) and Victor Jones all of Albany, GA, Robbie Ervin of Pelham, GA, and Charlie Ervin, Jr. of Boston, MA; five granduncles: Walter Glaze (Susie), Leroy Glaze, Herbert Glaze (Brenda), Minister Daniel Washington, and Elder Johnnie Williams all of Burton, SC; seven grand-aunts: Mildred Allen, Willie Mae Glaze, and Catherine Brown all of Burton, SC, Ellen Parker and Ann H. Sommerville of Albany, GA.; one great-grandaunt, Leomi Collier of Sylvester, GA; one great- granduncle, Theo Asrow of Trenton, NJ; two god brothers, Richard Anderson Glaze of Atlanta, GA and Trey Jones of Burton; Special friends: Freddie Morton, Antonio Flagg, Marlon Gibbs, Glen Jenkins, Jackie “Candy” Singleton, Cecelia Brown, Derrick Webb and Natasha Winfield; numerous caring cousins and a multitude of friends.
